Today is the one year anniversary of the Me Time. Just For Me Launch Event. I want to celebrate this date as it is a landmark for me personally & for my business. With this one event, I ticked many things off my bucket list and also proved to myself that i did not need to do this for anyone else, I can & did do this for myself.
It started of as a way for me to encourage Chelsea Pottenger to come to Melbourne & do one of her amazing "corporate" wellbeing workshops to a group of small biz ladies who normally wouldn't have access to her wisdom & insights.
When I heard Chelsea speak with Jules Sebastian, her story resonated with me so very much. Mental Health issues can strike anyone at any time. It is not selective or discriminative. I'needed" others to hear Chelsea's story & to know that they are not alone.
I dm'd Chelsea tentatively asking her if she would be interested. I received an immediate & resounding YES. Oh my! I have to actually do this! On the road of planning this event, it changed course many times. At the end of many discussions, it was decided to keep it simple & introduce Me Time officially at the same time.
Now anyone who runs events would know that they are not as easy as they look. The smoother the event runs, the more hours, money & legwork has been done behind the scenes. The thought of putting on an event did not phase me in the slightest. In my previous lives, I have organised & ran many, many successful workshops, events & parties, all on a budget BUT with someone else's money.
I did have a budget, a budget of not much, but I also don't do things by halves. The venue had to be just right, the catering had to be delicious, the branding had to be on point & all attendees had to walk away amazed by what they had seen & heard.
Well, I did it.
I am not going to beat around the bush, I did it.
I loved it all.
With the help of my amazing friends & family, who I could not have done it without, I put together a day that filled my heart with joy and it broke down some of the barriers I had put up around myself.
This day showed me that if I want something enough & if I work hard, I can have it. I continue to have this work ethic & thought process around my business. Me Time. Just For Me being successful is what I want & I am going to have it.
